This weekend, we have A LOT going on at FTF.
The first event we have going on this weekend, is the 3rd Annual FTF Affiliate Challenge:
We will be open Friday from 5am to 6 pm and then be closed at 6 PM for set-up for the event. We will GLADLY accept help from anyone who wants to come by and help us prepare the gym for the fun on Satuday. We will be having a coaches barbecue Friday evening at the gym. Any and all are welcome... just bring a side dish as we prepare for the event by tidying up and setting up all of the necessary tools.
The gym will NOT be open until 8 AM on Saturday. It will not be open for regular gym hours due to this event (sorry for the inconvenience). Volunteers that can show up early, please show up at 7:30
Parking for thsi event will be PAST the gym on Minnewawa AND around the circle past the gym. There is PLENTY of space but you may need to walk a little ways to get to the gym. the parking lot at the gym itself will be cordoned off for vendors, athletes and spectator to roam about freely.
At 8 AM we will begin registration for the event. At 8:30 we will hold the judges meeting and at 9 AM the athlete meeting.
at 9:30 AM we will begin the heats every 10 minutes.
We will run this event until all of the heats and events are completed. We estimate about a 3 - 4 pm Finish time.
After that, we will head to Groggs for a post Competition Celebration! And who knows where the night will lead.
The following morning, February 5th, from 8a-10a. We are excited to present a two hour SMR Clinic with Jeff Alexander.
2-Hour Introduction to SMR Mini-Clinic
You will be learn how to approach the primary and secondary muscle regions that you should be working on through your SMR homework. (Do your homework!) We will cover 6 to 10 of the 19 regions during the course of the class, with the class participants playing an active part in determining which areas we focus on.
Not all joint problems can be fixed through SMR, but you will learn what to look for so you know when to buckle down and do more self-care, and when you should pick up that phone and call for help.
Imagine 90 minutes of massage…it’s similar to that!
All participants receive 2 hours of hands-on instruction in the Alexander Method of SMR, a digital copy of the Fundamentals of SMR manual (Written instructions with full-color pictures and anatomical illustrations for all 19 fundamental SMR exercises in a 85-page workbook) and a high-density SMR ball.
Additional educational materials are available as well as products from Rumble Roller, Trigger Point Performance, massage-grade marble or basalt stones, and some of the other balls, blocks and rollers we have selected as appropriate for SMR.
